Project information
Nature's Embrace is a bungalow residence designed around a single, guiding philosophy: that human beings live better when connected to the natural world. This four-bedroom home was conceived as a sanctuary — a place where the boundary between inside and outside dissolves, where plants breathe alongside the residents, and where natural materials age gracefully with the passing of seasons.
9M Design Studio drew from the principles of biophilic design, integrating living walls, internal courtyards, skylights, and natural ventilation pathways into every corner of the home. The material palette is entirely drawn from nature: raw limestone, teak timber, terracotta, hand-thrown ceramics, and woven natural fibres. The result is a home that feels ancient and timeless — a true embrace of the natural world.
Design highlights
This bungalow residence is a master class in biophilic design — blurring the distinction between the built and natural environments to create a living space that nurtures well-being, calm, and connection.
- Central open courtyard bringing sky, light, and air into the heart of the home.
- Four bedrooms each opening to private garden terraces with curated planting schemes.
- Living walls and integrated planters throughout the interior creating a lush, verdant atmosphere.
- Raw natural materials: rough limestone walls, teak floors, terracotta tiles, and hand-crafted stone basins.
- Skylights, clerestory windows, and solar shading designed to maximise diffused natural light.
- Cross-ventilation pathways designed into the architecture to reduce reliance on mechanical cooling.
- Landscape design fully integrated with the interior — native planting, water features, and stone paths.
